Lazio rescue incredible last-gasp comeback draw ahead of Celtic Euro clash
LAZIO rescued a point with a stunning 20-minute comeback against Atalanta in their last league match before facing Celtic.
The Serie A side secured a point thanks to Ciro Immobile's stoppage time penalty as they battled to a 3-3 draw at home.
Lazio now sit in sixth place in the league as they turn their attention to a trip to play the Hoops in the Europa League.
Le Aquile found themselves three-nil down at the break at the Stadio Olimpico.
Atalanta raced into a comfortable lead courtesy of a Luis Muriel double and an Alejandro Gomez strike.
But Lazio showed their resilience to fight-back in the last third of the match.
Immobile cut the deficit as he fired home a penalty after 69 minutes.
Joaquin Correa then pulled another back just one minute later to set up an exciting closing period.
And the hosts snatched a draw at the last.
Immobile was again entrusted with the responsibility from the spot.
He made no mistake as he found the net with the spot-kick with 92 minutes on the clock.
Lazio now shift their focus to their Europa League clash against Celtic at Parkhead on Thursday.
The Hoops currently top their group table with four points, while Lazio have three after their opening two matches.
Ahead of the match, Neil Lennon said he'd encourage his players to walk off the pitch if they're racially abused.Keep up to date with ALL the latest news and transfers at the Scottish Sun football page
